Helping Osborne Gate at Jennetts Park take shape

In July 2018, Mackoy began work on an inaugural contract with Redrow, a £1.8 million groundworks infrastructure deal at Osborne Gate at Jennetts Park, near Bracknell, Berkshire. We are helping to create a new community of stylish one- and two-bedroom apartments as well as three-bedroom houses, with works on the site expected to be completed within a 12-month timeframe.

Not only are we undertaking the earthworks, setting out, foundations, and all excavations to connect essential services on site, our team of dumper drivers, road sweepers, excavators and groundworkers will also be developing the entire road network and parking bays.

Getting safety standards off to a flying start

Upon gaining access to the site in July, our team, under the direction of Site Foreman Shane Wheeler, were quick to set about making the workspace safe for all operatives. They established designated traffic and pedestrian routes, as well as using best practice dust suppression techniques to minimise dust generation during excavations. They also ensured all operatives wore fit-tested facemasks while undertaking groundwork in the hot weather.

Initiatives such as these are all part and parcel of protecting our team and those working alongside us, and is something our SHEQ Manager, David Bacon, pays close attention to when he assesses health and quality standards during his weekly site visits. We always ensure the welfare provisions outlined in our Good Practice Guide are put into effect at each of our live builds.

Welcoming the first wave of homeowners

Osborne Gate is on target for completion in summer 2019, and Redrow have wasted no time in marketing the forthcoming units to potential buyers. Many will be attracted to the development because of its idyllic location within the heart of Bracknell's countryside, coupled with the benefit of local amenities a mere 10-minute drive away and the Peacock Farm pub down the road.

Prices for a three-bedroom house begin at £409,950, with each home given character with red brick exteriors in a contemporary treatment. These homes also offer residents a private garden – perfect for families considering relocating to the area. Local rail and road services, providing direct connections to Reading and London, will no doubt appeal to commuters.
