We design, build, and implement essential groundworks infrastructure for multi-million pound housing schemes in Britain. Working with regional divisions of the UK's most prestigious national property developers.
Founded by Michael Mayock in 2011, Mackoy is now one of the largest groundworks specialists operating in the South of England. Providing clients with the qualified operatives and in-house plant to fulfil six-figure infrastructure contracts 100% autonomously.
Since undertaking our first contract with Bellway back in 2011 today we operate in five key regions. Working with the nation's leading homebuilders to develop vital underground infrastructure for new homes, roads and sewer systems. While simultaneously providing the valuable finishing touches that make our clients' projects complete.
We started small but that didn't last long.
In under a decade Mackoy has transformed from a family-run operation in a home office, to a major South Coast groundworks contractor. And our headcount isn't the only thing that's gone up.
We've also invested £9 million into new plant since business began, increasing our machine and vehicle fleet to over 150 high-powered machines, purchased from the leading manufacturers in construction engineering. All of which give us the edge when it comes to getting the job done safer, faster and more efficiently.
Empowering our operatives with the newest hi-spec plant is just one of the ways we've successfully grown our groundworks operation since 2011. Both our client volume and our contract values have also increased monumentally. With the South's most influential property builders repeatedly appointing Mackoy to fulfil their groundworks infrastructure.
Today we take on contracts ranging from several hundred thousand pounds, to multi-millions. Lending our services to projects in Hampshire, Dorset, Sussex, Surrey and Berkshire.
At Mackoy we have the resources to complete large-scale groundworks contracts entirely in-house. Whether you need to substantiate if a new site is ripe for development, or create the technical specifications to bring your project to life. Our experienced CSCS operatives have the skills, training and ingenuity to deliver the job to time, budget and exceptional quality standards.
With a team of dedicated groundworks operatives, capable of undertaking everything from earthworks through to oversites, we're uniquely placed to fulfil residential unit infrastructure for hundreds of homes on our clients' sites. Not to mention the essential underground trenches for utilities, sewers, and foundations to sit in.
Our excavation toolkit is constantly refreshed with the latest hi-spec plant. Exclusively purchased from the leading manufacturers of engineering equipment for the construction sector, including Volvo, Hydrema, Hitachi, Hendy Ford and Thwaites. Brands that share in the excellent quality credentials we're similarly proud to be associated with at Mackoy.
Dumpers aren't the only thing we're driving.
We started Mackoy with a desire to do things differently in the groundworks and civil engineering sector and since day one we've committed to this promise. Putting innovation at the forefront of our business model and proactively exploring new ways to advance the efficiency of our operations. Never shying away from a chance to challenge the status quo.
It's this tenacious appetite for improving ways of working that underpins our policies, processes and purchasing decisions at Mackoy. Forming the catalyst for everything from our internal training matrix to our Good Practice Guide. In fact, we never tire when it comes to bringing about positive change in our industry. Always seeking out new initiatives, equipment, and techniques, to improve our business for the better.
From spot inspections and site audits to reviewing our plant and excavation toolkit. At Mackoy we invest hard into training, equipment and protective gear to keep our operatives safe on the job. Constantly reviewing our processes and practices in line with industry legislation.
At Mackoy CSR is something we take pride in. So whether it's investing into new initiatives to reduce our environmental impact or giving back to the local communities we work in, we're always seeking out new ways to show our support and make a difference.
