At Mackoy, we are proud to work with a range of charities and we regularly get together with fundraisers to raise as much money as possible for worthy causes. This time, we spent an afternoon at the first annual Inert Charity Golf Day, in support of the oncology ward at Winchester Hospice, also known as the Nick Jonas ward.
About the Day
Taking place at Remedy Oak Golf Club, the first annual Inert Charity Golf Day started with a few rounds of golf, followed by a three-course dinner and a live auction. Organised by Keith and Mandy Larner of Inert Recycling, guests on the day included Sir Trevor Brooking, Steve Lomas, Vernon Kay and many more, all coming together to raise an astounding £62,000 in a single afternoon, with a live auction including some amazing lots.
About the Charity
Winchester Hospice specialises in palliative care, providing compassionate and specialist care for patients. Among the many services provided, there are outpatient clinics in oncology, haematology and palliative care, as well as chemotherapy, systemic anti-cancer treatments and counselling sessions.
