August's Quality Competition Winners

22 October 2018

Our quality@mackoy.co.uk inbox was jam packed with photos from our team again in August. All proudly showcasing the top quality groundworks our operatives have been undertaking on our clients’ project sites. So it’s great to see that momentum for this internal photo competition isn’t slowing down.

We’d like to think that it’s mainly pride in a job well done that’s motivating our Mackoy groundworkers to send us images of their work. But we’ve a sneaky suspicion that the £100 prize for each winning photo selected has a little something to do with it too. Mainly it’s just the pride thing though.

As mentioned we received a steady stream of images popping into our competition inbox in August. Although we should say that while the quality of the work was faultless, in some cases the image quality was slightly less so!

We know we said a simple snap taken on a mobile phone would do, as it’s really all about the workmanship being showcased and not the image itself that’s being judged. But after receiving a few blurry entries this month we’d like to request that any picture being sent in for consideration (at the very least) should be in focus.

Which brings us on to August’s winning picture or pictures, as we should say, as this person sent us in quite a few shining examples of his work on site for Barratt David Wilson in Whitchurch. All in focus too we might add. Our groundworkers fondly refer to him by his nickname Tonbag but officially he goes by Paul Weaving.

Paul wins the £100 prize for these close-up images of internal drain runs as well as his action shots of a swale/pond being excavated by one of our Mackoy compact excavator plant. Which also shows one of our Mackoy dumper trucks in shot collecting the excavated soil ready for muckaway. In fact Paul’s images not only capture quality work in progress on our worksites but also the types of groundworks service we commonly carry out as part of our infrastructure contracts. Work that gets a resounding thumbs up for quality from NHBC – as this picture of Paul with an inspector on site shows.

Along with Paul’s images we also shortlisted another winning photo this month, a great shot showing a manhole cover installed at Oxlease during the final phase of tarmac going in. With a couple of our groundworkers also visible in the distance, at the top of the frame, carrying out the works. Just going to prove there’s always room for more than one winning image each month.

If you’d like to see your quality workmanship showcased on our Mackoy newsfeed (and earn yourself £100 per photo in the process) then keep sending in your images to quality@mackoy.co.uk. We’ll be back announcing the winners of September’s Quality Photo Competition soon. In the meantime there’s still time left to get your entries in on time to be considered for October’s prizes.
